The trade fair is pursuing an increase in international projection in southern Europe and Mediterranean countries; a consolidation of the subcontracting and engineering sectors; and a growth in representation in order to provide a global view of the metallurgy industry

 

The sixth Maquitec will be held from the 25th to the 29th October 2005 in Fira de Barcelona's Gran Vía M2 exhibition centre, bringing it forward by one year. This new positioning of Maquitec in the metallurgy sector’s international trade fair calendar will allow companies to plan their trade fair strategies to give better results. From 2005, Maquitec will maintain its biennial frequency, making it Spain’s leading metallurgy trade fair held in odd years.

 

Throughout its history, Maquitec has progressively increased exhibitor participation and attracted more buyers. In 2004, this industrial trade fair brought together 1,452 companies represented at 404 stands, and attracted 26,566 visitors. Since its first show in 1996 to the present, Maquitec has grown by 140% in exhibitor numbers, 154% in space and 70% in audience. This on-going growth is explained by the fact that 40% of demand in the metallurgy sector is concentrated in the north east of the peninsula and, therefore, companies participate mainly to contact new clients from multiple industrial sectors.
